Sublimation printing for promotional products
All you need to know: sublimation printing
What is dye sublimation printing?
Dye sublimation printing uses heat transfer to apply an image to shirts, coffee mugs, or whatever the target is. The process can successfully reproduce vibrant colors and vivid designs.
A dye sublimation printer uses a specially designed ribbon that holds solid inks. The sublimation process involves two main phases.
- The process begins with the transfer of unique sublimation inks or dyes to sheets of “transfer” sublimation paper.
- In the next step, heat is applied to the transfer paper as it is pressed to the target object. Heat presses transform the solid dye into a gas. This gaseous sublimation dyes then penetrate the interior of the substrate, creating a permanent color bond.
Sublimation prints are vibrant, sharp, and durable, making them perfect for promotional products such as apparel, drinkware, hats, backpacks, and branding materials.

Sublimation FAQs
What types of branded merchandise can you customize with full-color sublimation printing?
We specialize in sublimating company logos, branding, and custom designs onto popular promo items like mugs, water bottles, t‑shirts, ceramic tiles, phone cases, travel mugs, and aluminum signs.
How does pricing compare to traditional screen printing or embroidery?
For full-color designs, sublimation is actually more affordable than other imprint methods.
Is the imprint quality and vibrancy comparable to digital printing?
Yes, sublimation actually exceeds digital printing in vibrancy and quality since the inks infuse deep into the material rather than sit on top. The prints will not scratch, fade, or peel off.
Is there a maximum imprint size for items like signs and murals?
One of the benefits of sublimation over other methods is the ability to print edge-to-edge full-color images. We can sublimate up to 5′ x 10′ murals suitable for trade shows and events.
Do you offer customized packaging and fulfillment services?
Yes, we provide custom packaging options, including individual poly bags or boxes with your logo and messaging to promote your brand. We also offer warehouse storage and direct fulfillment services.
Can you source eco-friendly or made in USA blanks?
We have partnerships with vendors who make environmentally-friendly sublimation blanks from recycled materials or that are carbon-neutral. For many product types, we can also source blanks that are made domestically.
