Types of screen printing we offer
Dive into the world of the different types of screen printing, where your creative visions come to life on fabric, paper, and beyond! Have a look at the popular techniques we use for silk screen printing:
Spot color screen printing. The MVP of personalized t‑shirt printing, this basic technique uses the stock color of the ink, creating vibrant, solid spots of color. It’s perfect for designs that require specific, consistent colors across prints, making your business logo shirt pop.
Simulated process printing. Simulated process screen printing is a technique used to reproduce full-color images with a limited number of ink colors. Unlike traditional CMYK printing, which uses four ink colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) to create a wide range of hues, simulated process printing relies on carefully selected spot colors to achieve a similar effect.
Halftone printing. Ideal for achieving gradient effects with limited colors, halftone printing uses dots of varying sizes to create the illusion of a full spectrum of shades with just a few inks. This technique adds depth to your custom screen prints.
Grayscale printing. Want to print a stunning photo on a tee? Grayscale printing transforms full-color images into a single-color masterpiece, using shades of gray (or any chosen color) to capture every detail. It’s a go-to for art printing on custom apparel.
CMYK printing. For designs that demand the full color spectrum, CMYK printing uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black) to recreate detailed, multi-colored images. Separate screens are created for each color.
Glow in the dark printing. Turn off the lights and watch your design glow! This fun technique uses special inks that store light and glow in dark environments, perfect for custom shirts for events or giveaways, day or night.
Crackle printing. Add a vintage or distressed look to your prints with crackle printing. This technique creates an intentional “cracked” effect in the ink, giving your custom screen printing projects a unique, aged appearance right off the press.
Whether you need a run of custom shirts for your next corporate event or some custom backpacks for tradeshow giveaways, screen printing is a great choice.

Does screen print last?
Screen-printed apparel stands the test of time, making it a stellar choice for your custom corporate apparel needs. The water-based inks used in screen printing penetrate deep into the fabric, creating a strong bond.
This means your custom apparel won’t just survive the rigors of daily wear and countless washes; they’ll thrive, keeping the colors vibrant and the designs crisp. The durability of screen-printed items translates into lasting brand visibility and employee pride. When you choose screen printing to rep your brand, you’re investing in your brand’s long-term image.
Is screen printing high quality?
Screen printing is synonymous with high quality. This time-tested technique delivers unparalleled vibrancy and durability so your custom apparel looks nothing short of professional.
Our precision screen printing presses create sharp, clean lines and rich, consistent colors that faithfully represent your brand. The robust nature of our printing inks means that your custom gear will maintain its dynamic look through countless meetings, events, and daily wears.
What is the difference between screen printing and digital printing?
When comparing screen printing to digital printing (direct to garment printing), it’s essential to understand their distinct characteristics and applications. Screen printing excels at producing vibrant, long-lasting prints on a wide range of materials. This method involves using stencils (screens) for each color in the design, and applying ink layer by layer onto the fabric using screen printing presses. It is cost-effective and efficient for large orders, offering superior durability and color fidelity, making it ideal for personalized t‑shirt printing and corporate apparel.
Conversely, digital printing is a more recent innovation that allows for high-detail, multi-colored designs with a faster production time. It operates similarly to a standard inkjet printer, directly applying the ink onto the material. This print method is best suited for small quantities and designs that require intricate details and a wide color palette. While digital printing provides flexibility and convenience, screen printing remains the preferred choice for projects requiring high-quality, consistent results over large volumes.
Screen printing vs. embroidery: which is best?
Screen printing and embroidery are each fantastic solutions for displaying your branding on custom apparel and gear. Here’s a comparison of the two:
Screen printing
- Great for simpler designs with bold colors and graphics
- Ink is applied on top of the garment rather than stitched in
- Works best on smooth, flat surfaces such as t‑shirts, sweatshirts, etc.
- Price per item is lower for higher quantities
- You pay a per-color fee, so costs go up with more colors
- Can feel stiff or heavy if too much ink is used
Embroidery
- Works well for logos, text, and intricate, multi-colored designs with fine detail
- Stitches are sewn into the fabric so the design is usually more durable and long-lasting
- Good for lower quantities since there is no per-color fee
- Pricing per item tends to be higher than silk screen printing
Silk screen printing tends to be more affordable for bulk orders and allows for bright, graphic design on garments. Embroidery creates a dimensional, high-end feel and is great if you need a logo or lettering sewn with fine detail.
