Position Overview
The Business Development Associate is responsible for managing inbound leads, converting prospects into long-term clients, and supporting overall business growth. This role blends sales and account management, requiring both a proactive approach to new business development and the organizational skills to ensure projects are executed seamlessly.
The ideal candidate is a fast learner who is highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing strong sales instincts with excellent client service, while collaborating across departments to deliver outstanding results.
This role reports to the Director of Accounts & Creative.
Location
This full-time position operates during Mountain Standard Time office hours remotely or from our office in downtown Boulder, Colorado.

Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Manage inbound leads from Anthem’s marketing pipeline, qualifying, pitching, and converting into active clients.
- Cultivate and grow any personal book of business.
- Identify opportunities, present tailored solutions, and support sustainable revenue growth.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and project scope with clients.
- Deliver compelling presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
Client & Project Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new clients from project start to finish.
- Ensure projects are scoped, budgeted, and delivered on time and on brand.
- Oversee project handoff and execution in collaboration with account, design, and production teams.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in Commonsku, Monday.com, and G Suite.
- Troubleshoot project challenges and maintain a high level of client service throughout the lifecycle.
Operational Alignment & Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate with design, production, and account teams to ensure seamless execution of new business.
- Communicate project status, context, and client needs across teams.
- Participate in planning sessions and team meetings to align priorities and resources.
- Provide feedback and insight to strengthen Anthem’s sales and business development processes.
Client Growth & Financial Accountability
- Support revenue targets by converting inbound leads into long-term client accounts.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals.
- Maintain profit margins in line with agency benchmarks and escalate exceptions when needed.
- Contribute to account growth through upsell opportunities, repeat business, and excellent service.
Travel: occasional, including to our Boulder, CO headquarters
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in promotional products, branded merchandise, and sales/account management.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fast learner with a process-driven and detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong collaborator with the ability to partner effectively across account, design, and production teams.
- Proficiency in Mac, G Suite, Commonsku, and Monday.com.
- Positive attitude, resilient mindset, and commitment to client success.
- Availability beyond normal business hours when required to support client and project needs.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting base pay for this position is $50,000 – $70,000 annually (depending on experience), plus commission and benefits. Benefits include unlimited Flexible Time Off, optional medical and dental insurance plans, fifteen (15) company holidays per year, and eligibility for a 401(k) program after one year of service. Anthem Branding employees qualify for base benefits effective the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.
