National Intern Day Spotlight: Julia Merten

Meet Julia Merten, one of our Content Marketing Interns here at Anthem Branding, featured in our National Intern Day Spotlight.

Q: Where are you from originally? What is special about the place you grew up?

A: Centennial, Colorado - as suburban as it gets. I lived next to a big, beautiful, open space with a panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains.

Where do you go to school and what is your major?

I go to school at CU Boulder. I study Media Production with a minor in Technology, Arts, and Media and Information Science.

What does your internship entail?

My position specializes in photography, videography, and other fun visuals for the agency. This content gets used throughout our marketing and promoted on our socials, website, and beyond.

Most valuable thing you have learned in your internship so far? Favorite thing you’ve done?

I’ve learned how I can apply my creative interests in a business setting.

My favorite thing I’ve done this summer was a photoshoot at Union Station for an up-and-coming distillery.

What did you want to be when you were young? What do you want to be now?

I was set on opening my own bakery until I realized I can’t bake. Although, my parents thought I would be a prison warden...

What song have you completely memorized?

“Julia” by The Beatles, the song I was named after. (conceited much?)

What movie title best describes your life?

Clueless (1995)

What fad or trend do you hope comes back?

Rollerblading (it’s on its way back)

What’s your favorite piece of clothing you own/owned?

I wear my Frida Khalo necklace everywhere as a reminder to be vulnerable in creative endeavors.

What’s your favorite hobby?

Arts and crafts (physical and digital).

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?

I like to make things called handscapes, where I create tiny worlds on hands and photograph them. (insta @handscape.landscapes)
